SERAh – “Going Nowhere”

Los Angeles-based producer, DJ, and Lyra Records founder Natalie Demary presents “Going Nowhere,” the compelling debut single from her dark cinematic melodic bass project, SERAh. Fusing elements of melodic dubstep, melodic trap, and orchestral film scoring, the track serves as the inaugural chapter of a broader creative endeavor tied to the SERAh Cinematic Universe (SCU)—a 20-chapter sci-fi narrative world that forms the project’s conceptual foundation.
Built in Ableton Live, the track’s production layers Serum synthesis against studio-recorded orchestral instrumentation, balancing lush melodic bass movement with sweeping cinematic textures. Conceptually, “Going Nowhere” explores themes of emotional stagnation, capturing the cyclical nature of routine, the weight of unresolved feelings, and the strange comfort found in surrendering to inertia. Moving away from traditional EDM drop structures centered on neat resolution or pure triumph, SERAh’s sound leans into emotional complexity, using darkness as raw material to offer listeners company rather than quick answers.
Having previously secured slots at Bass Euphoria’s mainstage and Camp Elements, SERAh establishes a distinct voice within the electronic landscape with this debut. By pairing high-energy festival sensibilities with intricate narrative worldbuilding, “Going Nowhere” delivers an expansive and atmospheric listening experience that sets a promising trajectory for her upcoming debut EP.
