Drawing from a 30-year connection to Malo and The Mavericks, as well as his own personal experience as a cancer survivor, Alexandrakis transforms what could have been a somber recording into a vibrant celebration of life.
The track rejects melancholy, instead leaning into a joyous, uplifting arrangement designed to comfort anyone navigating grief. Alexandrakis sings lead and handles the core production, surrounding his vocal delivery with a rich tapestry of acoustic and classical textures. The track features multi-instrumental support from E.J. Ouellette on violin, viola, mandolin, and slide electric guitar, while former Mavericks member Michael Guerra adds subtle accordion layers.
