One of the EP’s most evocative moments arrives with “Home in Black and White,” inspired by Basel’s legendary Morgestraich procession. The image of darkness, drums, and the city’s annual 4 a.m. awakening becomes a powerful metaphor for memory itself, ritualistic, haunting, and endlessly recurring.
What I appreciate most is the project’s commitment to imperfection. Modern recordings often remove every trace of environment and human presence. Klarstein.rocks does the opposite. Room noise, blurred edges, and subtle imperfections remain intact, giving the music a sense of place and authenticity. These songs feel lived in rather than manufactured.
